Mechanical enemies can be a pain to deal with because of their high defense, but most regular enemies go down fairly quickly, I think. Are you staggering them?

I mean, usually fights are taking about 1 to 2 minutes, but there's the occasional 5 minute or 7 minute fight. I'm at the point where I'm having more fun running past stuff and watching the story progress.
Maybe I'm just not using the right Paradigms, but I feel like debuffing/buffing and then switching to COM/RAV/RAV until they're staggered and going all out, is what I'm supposed to be doing. I can't see what I could be doing differently that would speed fights up. In 2 person groups, it's worse, but uh, knowing that I won't have to deal with that again is nice.
