I'm only a month late, it's not too bad. Planned to do this after Icehawk posted the entire games committee thing but he's taking way too long at this (I blame the people who can't do a simple paragraph writeup >_>), so I'm going to start this now.
As well as the top 10, I'll do a few other writeups of games that I played for the first time in 2011, including some amazing titles as I finally decided to buy a PS3 in 2011, giving me a lot of new games to play.
Even if you are watching Icehawk's topic, the list I gave him then is not the same as the top 10 list now, as one game I played near the end of the year has risen in rank considerably. Also, he only asked for a top 5, which limited the list a bit.
Also, unfortunately, I have not played (or played enough of) many of the big games that came out this year, even if I own the game. This includes Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Saints Row 3, and Deus Ex: Human Revolution, among others.
I'll post the honorable mentions to the list by the end of the day.
