I tried 0 last year after a couple days of splendid REMake runs, and to my ****ing astonishment, I quit during the train. Playing the two games side-by-side makes 0's flaws woefully apparent. Forget even the most minutely subjective complaints like level design - the graphics are worse, the loading times are worse, and the cutscenes are more jittery. It was kind of a bitter pill to swallow tbqh. The game came out six months after REMake on the same console; those technical shortcomings are inexcusable.
I can forgive a lot of Zero's technical flaws based on the fact that the story revolves around the Wesker/Birkin bromance.
