I'll go into this more when I get home, but Capcom has been trying their damnedest to please every subset of their fans so generally most fans find solace somewhere.
Revelations for the classic fans.
ORC for the squad based combat fans.
RE6 for the newage fans.
There have been some missteps though, but none big enough to call for Capcom's head.
