After a healthy dose of trainer battles and what feels like an increased encounter rate, I make it through to the end of Route 2. And as I'm about to make it to Striaton City, Bianca shows up again and asks for a battle. Let's she what she's got.
First up is a level 9 Meowth. catastrofy starts things out for me. A combo of Fake Out and Bite lowers her HP down. Fearing what could happen if I pressed my luck, I use a Potion. And rightfully so, as the next Scratch would've killed her. Not to worry, though. Meowth goes down after two Headbutts.
Next up is a level 10 Tepig, and I switch to Wicklebee. Hopefully Faint Attack proves to be helpful. Goddammit, Tepig's first Ember lands a burn and Wicklebee's down below half health. Playing it safe, I switch to Pirateking, who should have no real trouble finishing up. And indeed, one Water Gun is all it takes. Yay I win, and still with no casualties.
