part of the reason board8chat people did so well in top 100 users is because they talk to each other a lot, and when asked to come up with a list of 15 users with no guidance, you're much more likely to go with people you interact with all the time

Compared to the other "board8chat" people, I usually don't do too well in Top 100 Users. I only finished 29th despite showing up on 15 lists. My 15 list appearances is more than the next 16 users ahead of me. It isn't until you get to Ayvuir (12th overall) that someone ahead of me has more list appearances than me. In my situation, I only averaged about 4 points per list because so many people were putting me low on their lists. Most of the other users ahead of me were averaging between 7 to 11 points for each list appearance. Most of the people that voted for me didn't see me as a person that deserved to be high on their list, even if they would normally vote for me in UotY if they saw my name. For comparison, my overall finish in Top 100 users and UotY

2011: N/A / UotY: 34th
2010: 31st / UotY: 36th
2009: N/A / UotY: 77th
2008: N/A / UotY: 92nd

I finished in the top 100 of UotY every single time, but only had one appearance on the Top 100 Users list before this year.
