had jury duty a few months back
there was a monstrous fog, though as it turned out, the courthouse was just down the road. i went in and had the joy of spending an hour while a judge went over all the details that anyone who knew how to read the jury duty summons could have already figured out. then more waiting after being assigned a case. then the person us potential jurors would be judging plead guilty and we didn't have to do a damn thing and got to go home.
