I have to wonder how such a gem is grown. I know us people can make synthetic diamonds and grow other such gems using various deposition methods, but what do dragons do? And do I even WANT to know the biological processes that would be used to extract nutrients from such a thing?

So...the lesson is that giving gifts is a good thing. Because that totally isn't what set this sequence of events off....
A likable episode for a few moments here and there, plot was standard midseason lame....but it could have been worse. Having it be genetic was a neat touch. 7.5/10
