Jacob is better than Kaiden. Jacob is generic, but he's black and looks like Kanye West. Kaiden is generic and Carth 2.0, which is just terrible. At least he's not a racist annoying b**** like Ashley.

Or by 'early', do you just mean doing nothing but main quests then taking him on all the loyalty/side missions and damn the Normandy crew? Because there is unused dialogue for him in the recruitment missions as well, IIRC.
That's what we mean, yes, since most of the game consists of side/loyalty missions. It's just about doing the IFF mission as soon as it's available to get Legion "early".
