This wasn't some stranger. I know him very well and it was obvious he was telling the truth. I also do know some of the stuff he did (I saw him working on some and he went ahead and told me a few of the other things).
One of his main jobs was to go to conventions/rallies/etc or onto message boards and act like a crazy, racist, extremist while claiming to support other candidates. He'd also be given specific "facts" about the candidate he was "supporting" to spread around.
And this is different from how any other candidate runs their campaign... how?
It sounds like your friend hates Romney because he's got experience with Romney. If he went and worked on any other campaign, he'd find it's not just Romney, it's all of them.
