Whats stopping someone just keeping the game and pulling this? If Gamestop are confident they don't tamper with new games surely they'd acknowledge zero possibility of that happening? Unless it was on the suppliers end, in which case its presumably on gamestop to check their stock is correct on receipt?

also I just want to say, just cause I work at gamestop doesn't mean I'm riding and dying for them

hate gamestop for the right reasons.
as far as LTM's GSs go, it seems that they're taking liberties with their perks and they're not supposed to be taking advantage of it like that. and I don't think theres any way to report this either, unless you get a new game with a scratch on it. Then you can send a complaint and I GUESS speculate on the complaint form that they're playing the games, but still. It sucks, they're a bunch of dicks for doing that.
