So there's a pretty good chance Cid knows that much, at least.
And at the very least, Cid should have some idea that Squall is some sort of "child of destiny." I can't imagine Edea didn't tell him about it. Plus, it's pretty clear throughout Disc 2 that Cid is trying to groom him for leadership, much to Squall's own chagrin, so I'd imagine he knows about his destiny. You'd kinda sorta have to think that Cid has SOMETHING in mind for Squall for him to send him off on such a vague assignment the day after he becomes a SeeD.
But who knows.
