Panthera: Right, I agree with that. However, preceding scenes do set up a context for the ending and can have an indirect effect on it. For instance, if we cut the buildup to FFX's ending from the game (e.g. the scene where Tidus touches the wall of fayth in Zanarkand) obviously the ending gets weaker even if the ending itself is the exact same scenes. That's what I was referring to here.
