The runs are only really dissimilar in level order, I imagine. Ideally you'd want to travel the shortest amount of distance in between paintings, but Sig goes straight to the level with canonless because that star is a b**** to get. He probably loses five or so seconds just because he hast to travel back to Bob-Omb Battlefield.
Well you HAVE to go away from Bob-Omb Battlefield and then back to it at some point anyway, to get the Wing Cap, so I don't think in the long run he loses any time there.
I mean, you can definitely get every star on BOB without the Wing Cap (I do every time I play), but for World Record Speed Running purposes you kinda need it.
