Eh, LotR always feels like a 'stronger than the sum of its parts' type of deal. At its peak, it's certainly a juggernaut, but as time has gone on, I just don't feel people having the same connection to it that they had years ago. That and I feel that Gandalf would be a more iconic rep, even if Aragorn is a better character an--

For the record, I do expect Gandalf to be LotR's strongest representative, especially since he'll have 2 more movies on Aragorn in the next couple years. But I disagree that the series would have come down that far from its peak... LotR and Star Wars are so universal in nerd culture, I don't see that changing anytime soon, and our site demographic figures to fit that niche perfectly.
