I always liked the contests because of the potential for variation. it's tough to expect that anymore. GOTY polls would be more interesting than another contest because at least the games change.
I've suggested turning the GOTY polls into annual mini-contests every year for a good while. Still think that would be the best contest-related idea Allen could feasibly pull off. It wouldn't need to be a for prizes thing either. Just give people karma or whatever.
