I get the impression SB will think of this as a Character Battle and still be looking to do something else in 2012. Got to believe he's gotten past his "newer games will always win!" frame of mind and can be talked into realizing that the no-generation split 1v1 GotD rocked, and mixing those games with the last two years plus the best of the past (besides Ocarina/FF7) would be even better.
Now I'm all for something totally new, but ehhhh, Best Item/Weapon doesn't do it for me. If there's something new in 2012 I still suspect it'll be Best System, considering the timing- all of current gen coming to an end but the next gen not quite having launched yet (depending on the time of year).
