I really recommend dropping Chun Li, she's the worst rush down character in the game, only thing she has going for her is air mobility but you could just chose Magneto for that and do a hundred times better. Replace her with Wolverine and you'll see a huge difference in effectiveness (and what's even sadder is that Wolverine was hugely nerfed and Chun Li was buffed in Ultimate, and Wolverine's still miles better than her.)
If you're a beginner online's not the place for you. Casuals didn't buy this game and 70% of online is Shoryuken.com players who know what they're doing. You should find someone willing to help you in a lobby improve since going online with no idea how to play is just suicide.
