I don't have any experience with any RPG Makers, so I'm just going to explain what kind of character I'd like to be. I see that pirate's an all-around attack character, and Bruno's the dark mage-type character, so basically what's left in RPG archetypes is support/healer, damage tanker, and all-out offensive. I was trying to think what all a stereotypical genius would be as a playable RPG character, and I think I've got something that can work.
Class: Support
Style: He should just be a normal-looking guy. Maybe some fancy clothes, then stick some glasses on him. Just so he's differentiated from the rest of the party.
Weapons: Whatever would be perceived in the land of Gamefacks as advanced weaponry. Judging from the last game, I'm going to go with some kind of laser prototype with sights, or something, since Smurf was a master of guns and lasers just feel like the next step. I feel like this kind of attack should be very accurate, yet somewhat weak, as it's only my character's prototype. This mission could be thrown on him at the last second, and he has to use what he's come up with. Whatever fits into the story you're writing.
Stats: As he's not normally used to fighting, he should have low HP, but decent defense, and high magic defense. You could work this into him having some kind of energy shield he's developed. Again, he should be accurate with his attacks, but not too powerful. His evasion is average, and if possible, instead of MP, he could have TP (technical points), which enable his various support techniques.
Moveset: He basically exists to buff the rest of the party. Attack, defense, and HP type of stuff. He can start out with a basic healing technique for one person, then go on to learn a defense buff, then attack buff, and from there, more advanced full-party techniques of the same type. Anything else that you feel will fit into the game well is fine.
