if "being coddled" means growing up in stable, supportive environments then yes, i'd say we are increasingly in that category. If you yourself haven't, then I'm sorry, but trying to pass it off as a bad thing somehow doesn't make sense.
note that stable =/= overprotective. That's a different issue entirely.
there is such a thing as over supportive, people have to learn how to stand on their own two feet someday. having a stable environment is great, I'm not saying we'd be better off like some countries in africa where you have 8 year olds patrolling the streets with AK47's, but we are WAY too sensitive to peoples feelings in this country. you can't protect someones self esteem at the expense of the truth, the BS will catch up to us sooner or later(arguably it already is)
