Not knocking Skyward Sword, Edge has just been really terrible since they started giving out number scores.
I don't know why you've always thought this, but this is at least the second time I've had to correct you on this:
Edge have always given numbered scores. Always. In fact, they're famous for being the magazine that actually uses the whole damn scale rather than sticking to the 6-10 range.
Speaking of which this inspires great confidence. Edge are incredibly harsh and always, always have a reason for giving a 10/10. Even if I don't agree I can always see why, with the exception of a rather dodgy Halo 3 review. Skyward Sword hype increased.
Even a 9 from Edge is exceptional praise.
