Ridley was also a boss in Brawl, for what it's worth. He certainly won't weigh Samus down, but I don't see him helping much.
Well, looking at last hear's CB, i was debating whether the Ryu/Ken rivalry would be able to make up the gap between Ryu and Samus from the x-stats. But if Ridley is a solid rivalry character, then I would assume a resounding "no."
