I think it might have to do with one of their opponents being San Marino and that Spain get the respect warranted with being the World Champions.
Spain shouldn't even be world champions...Robben is to blame for that though. Sneijder with two perfect through balls in regular time and one of which was a clear red card to Puyol and should have been a penalty.
