where were you? i was there earlier in the summer and it ruled....how many vicious fights did you witness over cricket games?
I was in Pune, Pashan in particular. It's a pretty crazy city. I didn't get to see any vicious fights over cricket games, but I was in a bar when the India/England test match ended with India absolutely getting demolished. Everyone was pissed for about 10 seconds before going back to drinking and singing along with the music. But yeah, India is absolutely nuts. I was there for this thing called Ganesh Caturthi and it was insane. Pretty much 10 days of worshipping Lord Ganesh. People build these huge statues of Ganesh and like put them on display with crazy music playing 24/7 and crazy awesome light shows then on the 10th day there's like a huge festival/parade where people roll these Ganesh idols to the nearest river and submerge it, all the while partying the entire time. Due to this I spent the 10th anniversary of 9/11 partying with Indians and an Afghan. It was insane.
