Well, it goes along with all the stuff Seymour and Yunalesca have been spouting up to that point. Plus, as you would expect, people like Wakka and Lulu are conflicted about what to do there because, well, it basically goes against everything they've ever been taught. "You can choose to give up here if you want to, and it'll be the easy way out, like Seymour and Yunalesca have been talking about. Or you can keep fighting. It'll be harder, but you can really make a difference."
