I still remember Xmas 2001, 11-year old Kool-Aid and his little brother getting an Xbox and Halo CE, playing co-op and being blown away. We had played Goldeneye and Perfect Dark, but we never experienced anything like this for console gaming: a FPS that worked incredibly well with the controller and its dual sticks, the wide-open areas for battles, the varied reasonably intelligent enemy AI, the cinematic narrative, the impressive(at the time!) graphics, the easy to use vehicles that fit right in with the triangle of combat Bungie is known for(Melee/Guns/Grenades), the cool new systems like rechargable health and two-weapons at a time, the awesome music; I thought that s*** was the greatest of all games at the time(well that and Star Fox 64).
I've had a lot of great experiences with the series since, but you always remember your first, and its the first playthrough with my brother that I remember the most, ten years ago. I'm looking forward to re-experiencing it again for the first time in years, and maybe he'll play through with me again,.
