I really can't believe some of you people who don't like this. Please tell me how having more characters and less balance is a good thing.
We can - and should expect both. Nobody disappointed about this news thinks that balance is unimportant, or that gameplay improvements should take a backseat to roster size. We just think that, hey, a 45-character roster really isn't too much to ask for at this point.
The waiting period between Smash games is awfully long, but if they're gonna do it right, I don't mind waiting 6-7 more years at all. Hell, even eight or nine, if that's what it takes. But it'd be quite the letdown if they took this long to make a game with a roster in the 35-character range.

There are four characters who really, really need to be in the next game.
1) Ridley
2) Little Mac
3) Isaac (or another Golden Sun rep)
4) Tom Nook
Those are definitely Brawl's biggest snubs, without question.
