It's a little something called passion. Passion drives you to keep trying at something, even when it gets sour. This is all you know and all you'll ever know.

If some people are better at something than others, to me that means they aren't DOING IT HARD ENOUGH. Or there's an outside factor that's botching it up. In the words of Einstein, "Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will spend its whole life thinking it is stupid".

It's not worth comparing to "I do better on tests than some other kids and I don't study". That just means you had a better upbringing than them til that point, while they were out playing football or whatever, you were reading or learning.

I did pretty good in high school without ever studying or making an effort. I just have a memory that operates in such a way that I just managed to passively retain information because information was reiterated enough so that I just simply didn't forget much... and I was good at bulls***ting and finding shortcuts/taking liberties. I even got a B on a book report in college where I hadn't even read the book and couldn't find it anywhere in time, so I just based the entire report on what I read on the back cover of the book from a picture on the internet, and took information from write-ups that other people posted of the book. Come to think of it, I probably would've ended up graduating college if I had just gone to class all the time instead of almost never...
