but I don't see anything wrong with the Weapons one, or the Mastering Materia one. Stuff like that or breeding golden chocobos ARE achievements.
I feel that those things are above and beyond even normal hard work.
The existence of the trophies isn't going to convince anyone who wouldn't want to do it, and the people that do will feel rewarded because, as you said yourself, they are achievements in and of themselves.
