That doesn't mean that you shouldn't have to learn the main language that everyone uses
the issue with this comes in why we don't have an official language as well - not everyone uses english. in some areas english is a lesser language. the most obvious example of this comes with Mandarin and Spanish. both have major areas where you don't have to step out of much to live day to day life.
