Mark Madden and Devon are arguing over Twitter about how lame it is that Devon wrestles in track pants and doesn't make the effort to look like a wrestler.
Well, "arguing" is a strong word, it's mostly Madden making the point and Devon saying "lol say that to my face"
I think it holds water. Presentation is a huge thing. Part of what Kevin Steen is currently doing in ROH is deliberately dressing in a t-shirt and shorts to wrestle in to piss all over ROH's image.
Madden was harping on that on the Radio this week two. He was crazy that Devon vs. Garrett both wore trackpants. I think there is something to it. Mostly because I think being in shape IS important for a professional wrestler. It sells what you do. Its why I hate Samoa Joe most of the time and why there are times I think Punk and Bryan just doesnt FEEL like a marquee wrestling match.
I mean hell, even Eric Young wears trunks and is built.
I sort of get Punk because he's not super fit looking, but Bryan totally looks like a legit athelete???
edit: haha, i totally glazed over jakyl's post. he makes the point more succinctly that i do.
