I can see it. Personally I love MM, but if you're terrible at the game it's the only one where you can lose a ton of progress if you get to the end of the third day and didn't beat a dungeon or something.
That's not even the case, because the way each of the dungeons are set up, the progression is split into 3 parts: pre-dungeon song, dungeon arrow, boss. Once you have the song, you can get into the dungeon instantly, and once you have the arrows, you can skip half of the dungeon. Sometimes there is even a pre-dungeon item that will let you skip most of the quest for the song if you need to restart. There is really very little you need to do in one cycle to progress.
