*Runaway
*The Joy
*Touch the Sky
*We Don't Care - This might be the best Kanye hook ever. What a song to open up with. Great flow, great lyrics. I've always thought that the kids on the chorus was a masterful stroke. Beat is simple, but elegant and perfect for the song. I really think people underapprecitate this one.
*Through the Wire
*Who Gon' Stop Me - In case most of you haven't noticed, Watch the Throne is, for the most part, a showcase of Kanye's producing abilities and Jay's lyricism. Who Gon' Stop Me, however, does have a great Kanye verse, a great Jay-Z verse, and a tremendous beat. But is it the best non-bonus song on Watch the Throne?
*All Falls Down
*Jesus Walks
*All of the Lights
*Chain Heavy - The hook is ridiculous, but I like the beat from Q-Tip quite a bit. Kanye's verses are just shy of being great - "I am the day Ice Cube met Michael Jackson" is such a great line. Kweli and Consequence turn in great and good verses, respectively.
*Street Lights
*Love Lockdown - Great beat. Auto-tune is somehow not offensive here. I love the "system overload" effect, that's a nice touch. Also has resulted in a lot of surprisingly good covers (just take a look on YouTube), which most Kanye songs do not inspire.
*The New Workout Plan
*Power - Had the potential to be a top 10 or so track, but the beat is over-produced - it's just too dense much of the time - and on top of that, it's mastered very poorly, so all the intricacies are lost on the listener. While the execution of ideas isn't very good, the ideas are, and Kanye's great on it, so it still scores pretty well.
*We Major - Seven minutes and thirty seconds is a long time, but Kanye and Nas are pretty great. Really Doe is meh, and the beat is pretty average by Kanye standards (and at times distracts from the actual song by being too loud), but it's a mostly fun, enjoyable 7:30.
*Amazing - I kinda forgot this existed, to be honest. Which is weird, because it was everywhere during the 2008 NBA playoffs, when my beloved Celtics won the title. I love the beat - like most things on 808s - and Kanye's lyrics are alright, but obviously it's harder to grade for lyrics and delivery here. Yeezy's guest verse feels out of place on the album, but in isolation, it works just fine.
*Good Life
*Diamonds from Sierra Leone
*Devil in a New Dress
*Two Words
*Made in America - Frank Ocean has a nice voice, but this beat is kind of a bummer, and the whole song is sort of unduly saccharine. It's not bad, but it's not all that good, either.
*Hey Mama
*Monster
*The Glory
*School Spirit - Before this writeup, this song had one play in iTunes. It has the unfortunate status of being sequenced thusly: skit, [School Spirit], skit, skit, great song, greater song, greatest song. On top of that, Aretha wouldn't let Kanye sample her if the song was going to have any profanity, so all the curses are censored, and poorly at that. Given how Kanye loves Lauryn Hill, you think he'd have looked at "Doo-Wop (That Thing)" for how to make a self-censored song sound great. But he apparently did not.
*Never Let Me Down
*Mercy
