Do you still need more recs?

Live - Throwing Copper (album)

I think I was around 23 last time I counted, so this will be the last one. I know this would make it at least 25 and possibly up to 27 depending on whether or not I accept those who decided not to read.

Kevin McPhee - Blue Organ/Get In With You (Icon)

Man... I'm looking at the genre list in my player and it seems like this guy produces all of my least favourite genres of electronic music. I started off with the Blue Organ EP and while i can't say I really enjoyed it, the first track didn't bother me. I really liked the sound of the samples used, even though the rest fell pretty flat. I was a much bigger fan of the second track "Hang My Head" which featured some kick-ass work on the drums... but my praise honestly ends there. This is honestly my least favourite kind of music. Not because I think it's "bad" or in any way unimpressive, because it's somewhat interesting to listen to.... and i couldn't really ever imagine producing a track in this style... but it lacks everything I enjoy in music. The only thing that I need in music is the ability to make me feel something. I don't need a guitar, a piano, or a synth.. it can be any genre, vocals or instrumental.. anything, but it has to bring up some kind of emotion. And that doesn't necessarily mean happy, sad, or excited. If it can make me start bobbing my head, or make me want to dance... or feel nostalgic.. anything really, then I will enjoy it. This style of music generally does nothing for me.

It's hard for me to actively hate music because of this, since music I consider "bad" (as in not to my taste) just leaves me bored, rather than annoyed. I really have nothing to say about the rest of Blue Organ or Get In With You, because they didn't inspire any thoughts or feelings. I kind of enjoyed the funky bass in the LV remix of "Get In With You" but I'd have to assume that LV is a different producer entirely.

So that's pretty much it. Not a fan at all... but I'm not sure you didn't expect any different from a dude who doesn't enjoy Burial's Untrue.
