There's is an '' attack with weapon '' ability, though you have to check it in the option, some kind of features to allow you to actually customize your skills placement.
I use a dagger with my Demon Hunter because it's the only weapon I have that actually kill stuff fast and I use the '' attack normally ' attack all the time.
