Although I question why you would let someone else not liking you make you believe you were a bad person. That's just weird.
I'm not going to pretend I know anything about your personal life (because I don't and can't judge you on it - like I said, you seem like a smart guy with things going in his favor), and I don't expect to know any of that anytime soon. That said, I completely agree with your quote. It's a bad idea to let what others think of you determine what you think of yourself. That said, sometimes it's a good idea to consider the ideas of others.

I won't go into details, but Chris has become an unbelievably great person over the past 8 years. He used to fit the description of "just turn off your computer and go outside already, christ", but not anymore. Not for a long time now.
