I pretty much agree with everything you said in that giant write-up. I Can Go the Distance fits the movie and the character perfectly. It has such an epic feel to it early on as well. Lyrically I think it is one of my favorite songs, the big problem (and you mentioned this in there) is that the song is better seperated from the movie because of the interruptions.
I actually have the song at the start of a playlist that I listen to when I am feeling down (the Bolton version just fyi). It really is just a great uplifting song.
