Have you played other MH games? How does this one compare to them?

Last one I played was Monster Hunter Tri back on the Wii, there is a lot of changes in this new one, apart from the vastly improved visuals (a great step up) the simple fact of there being no loading screens as you travel between areas is a godsend, it really makes the game feel a lot smoother to play The crafting is all done well (getting parts is easier than before as you get more everything for capturing rather than killing monsters this time around), rewards are abound for everything you do (lots of missions to get new stuff), the controls feel better.. in general it feels like it's taken a lot of steps in the right direction.

Haven't posted in a looooooong while, haven't really been doing too much of note, I am however actually watching some anime's I haven't seen before, I saw both Handa-kun and Barakamon, I was surprised by how good they turned out to be. Next up is Classroom Crisis which might be okay.

Games wise I was getting stuck into DragonBall FighterZ last week and after spending a lot of time with it and having a lot of fun barely manged to drag myself away from it to get stuck into Monster Hunter World and oh dear, I've already lost 60 hours of my time killing/capturing all manner of monsters and there seems to be no end in sight, this game is gonna be taking me over for a while yet, good stuff.

Haven't posted in a while, been watching some more stuff, saw both seasons of Hoozuki no Reitetsu and it was pretty decent and am currently almost finished Enmusubi no Youko-chan which is okay-ish I guess.

In gaming news I finally got myself a Switch again, playing Super Mario Odyssey warms my cold, cynical heart and I'm convinced that it's quite brilliant, also picked up the enhanced version of Pokken tournament which is pretty darn fun too.
The Nintendo direct today announcing ports of various Wii-U games such as Donkey kong tropical freeze, Hyrule warriors (with all the DLC) took me by surprise and I am looking forward to them, then of course the announcement of a port for The world ends with you- a title I played before on DS and quite enjoyed- for the Switch was a rather nice boon.
Oh and also a little thing called a Dark souls remaster was announced for Switch, PS4, XB1 and PC as well.
Phew, quite the busy day for games news

Geez, it's been far too long since I've posted here
Happy new year guys

I've caught up on my 7 months worth of One piece episodes and now must wait a few months until I watch it again which is a little sad.

As for the anime season just gone I've seen UQ Holder! which was decent but the "read the manga" style ending was pretty eh
Next was Juuni Taisen which has a really bad score on MAL but it wasn't actually that bad, was a decent watch
After that was Imouto sae Ireba Ii which was... eh, kinda trashy but okay
And now I'm watching Shoukoku no Altair which is turning into a pretty good "travelling to try and prevent war" story

Started a rewatch of Fate / Zero last night because I received the depressing news that Netflix will have Fate / Extra, meaning that I do not get to watch that until late April or early May.

Well to be honest Zero is the only anime adaption worth watching anyway, UBW is worth it only for the animation and the spin-off stories are normally trash

So in trying to broaden my anime range a bit I decided to watch a series called Touseu Densetsu Akagi, a series about mahjong which is quite unlike anything I usually watch, after finishing episode 25 I was looking forward to the last episode since it would mark the end of this epic 10 episode match that was going on.... however my hopes were dashed after the second half of the episode where after the MC got his foe to continue playing with a stunt that was quite insane to see. What happened was a complete cut of the last part of said match, all of a sudden the voice-over guy says "this match will go down in history as a legend" and then cuts to a scene 35 years later where the presumed MC is just walking along and that's it.
Nothing else
What a waste of a build-up that took up almost half of the episodes to get to that point
I had been enjoying it up until this happened, I could only give it a 4/10 at the most since it disappointed me so much and that's what I did, a real waste of what could've been a great series.

Onto something new then: I watched the first episode of Boruto and to my surprise found it to be a good opener for this new series, I'll probably watch some more of it now

Just re-watched all of Assassination classroom, the end of S2 gets me good, it's nice to have an anime with a proper ending given how rare that is these days, great stuff really, Koro-sensei best sensei

Next up is.. idk yet, lucky there's only 2 weeks left 'till the season ends so there might be something good to watch then

Glad to see that you enjoyed Hajime no Ippo Youkai, I am quite fond of it myself, just like with Haikyuu and kuroko no basketit seems to prove that sports anime can be really in-depth yet a lot of fun to watch too

Season 2 of Ippo doesn't quite live up to S1 imo but is still good at least. S3- the latter half in particular is really, really good and left me wanting more as soon as I finished it

So I thought I'd watch something that I haven't seen before and settled on Accel world, I just finished the main series+ 2 OVA's and it was... okay I guess? I very much got the "you need to read the LN to get the most outta this" feel from the "ending" but it was decent enough I guess

SO4 wasn't a terrible game really, I had some fun with it on the 360... aside from the endless disc swapping for post-game content (the PS3 version was much better in that regard)

I wasn't aware that there was more than one Unlimited Blade Works, and for some reason the product page doesn't have any information like the run time, so I may have been screwed over.

Ouch... is this the part where I tell you that if your gonna go the anime-only route for Fate that it's a good idea (imo) to watch Zero before UBW because it adds a lot to the experience? (that and Zero is flipping great anyway)

That's right, Date a live is coming back! It was always one of my "guilty pleasure" kind of things and I'm happy to see it back- especially after S2 of it left a fair few questions unanswered.

Next year is looking realllllllll good now with this news and:
-One-punch man S2
-A strong possibility of Mob Psycho S2 (why else would there be a "recap" episode of S1 due in March next year?)
-Seven deadly sins S2
-Hopefully Steins: Gate 0
-Maybe even the new Full metal panic that's been "on hold" for waaaaaaaay too long now
-It's airing now but S2 of March comes in like a lion ends next year so I'm counting it too

All anime's that I really liked and I may well be missing a few too

(needless to say OP is one of my favourite series ever)

Anyway, I haven't posted in a long while, I finally decided to sit- no suffer- through Dragon ball super, I'm almost caught up with the new episodes (on 103 right now) and my god has it got reaaaaaaaaal bad, the earlier episodes were decent but the whole "tournament of power" arc is utter bollocks, the intro of finally adding female saiyans into the series SHOULD have been cool but no, both Caulifla and Kale are terribly written and get the most ass-pulled power-ups I've seen since end-game Shippuden

Not cool at all, these problems added to some low-quality animation and bad fight scenes don't make things better either, I'll continue watching with low hopes

In my anime news... is not much, I re-watched Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei because I didn't know what else to watch and for all it's silliness I just can't bring myself to hate it, it's simply entertaining to watch and looks great, sometimes that's all you need

Re-watching Jormungand now and maybe Bungo stray dogs after it

There's a few summer shows that I haven't seen yet that I'm still interested in. I just started one of them, Tsurezure Children. 12 minute short episodes, and it's essentially distilled anime romantic comedy; How to do self-evident cliches right. It's a fun comedy.

Oh, I actually saw that one myself, it was surprisingly good and I wouldn't mind seeing more of it

So I finished Made in abyss, I was very glad to see that episode 13 was a 48min special and upon finishing it am sure that this is going to be on my top anime list for the year. The pacing was excellent, the animation+music+VA work were perfect, the feels from epi 10+13 were real, the mystery of the abyss still continues despite learning a lot about it and the secret of Nanachi's form.
I absolutely NEED a season 2 of this, I know I say that about a lot of shows but this one is right up there, I give it a 9/10, absolutely fantastic stuff but I need more dammit

So now that I've seen most of the anime I wanted to watch from last season I thought that I'd start on a longer one called Sagrada Reset, I got through 6 of the 24 episodes before getting bored of it so I thought I'd try that one you guys keep talking about- Made in abyss, I saw the first episode last night and found it to be a great start- the nice animation, good music and an interesting premise got ae invested. I just finished the third episode now and think that this may turn out to be rather good- something that pleases me since last season was very meh for me (apart from Hero academia of course)

Woo, the fight between Midoriya and Todoroki was fucking incredible. That episode will go down as one of my favorite anime episodes of all time.

I told ya it was great, it's one of those rare "now THIS is why I watch anime" moments, both characters were great and the fight showed how much potential they both have

Your lie in April was good but- in my eyes- lost points for having an ending that was foreshadowed far before the actual end, you might say "well that's how it was meant to be shown" but it still didn't sit right with me, regardless I still liked it quite a bit.

I had no such problems with March comes in like a lion (it is of course quite different in structure) but I just genuinely enjoyed every aspect of it, the MC's growth and the multi-layered personality of his "sister" really worked well too (imo of course)

End of the day though both are good and that's all that matters

Looking at this season's line up I have to say that it looks pretty weak however! two shows that stand out from the rest of the rabble are season 2 of both March comes in like a lion and kekkai sensen of course I'm sure that some of you here are familiar with one or both of them but I feel like both are worth mentioning for those who don't know them since I think that both need more love tbqh

Been watching some more of last season's anime, first up was Re creators and it was okay I guess, the set-up was interesting but I felt the ending was rather weak, a good 7/10 is about what I'd rate it.

Just now I finished Classroom of the elite and it was actually pretty good, the twists shown at the end of episode 12 were really interesting, it did "end" the arc that was going on but I'd really like to see an eventual S2 if possible.

Halfway through my (partial since I saw the first half) re-watch of S2 Hero academia, I just... I know I commented when I saw it before but the Deku vs Todoroki showdown is really fucking awesome, it's the kind of showdown that makes me think "yep, THIS is why I still watch anime" and gets me feeling "pumped" as they say, the episode as a whole is one of those rare 10/10 ratings I almost never give out, the animation the voice work and of course the music are just perfect

So I have continued to watch more of this seasons's finished anime's, up first was Katsugeki Touken Ranbu, to be honest I only watched it because the animation masters Ufotable were doing it and it was... okay, it looked lovely throughout but it wasn't overly interesting or anything, overall it was okay.

Next up was Kakegurui, I wasn't sure what to expect from this but it ended up being quite a bit better than I thought it would, the ending was pretty weak but the ride up to it was good, overall it was surprisingly interesting.

And today I started on 18if, the first episode was pretty meh all around but I just finished the second one and hoo boy did the tone change drastically, after watching it I'm now very interested to see how it ends

Started on some of this seasons finished anime, I thought I'd get the ones that don't seem that good out the way first so I started with Hajimete no Gal, the first episode was terrible but at least by the end the MC turned out to be a kinda-okay guy and the main girl was actually a good character, the "I wanna hook up with preschoolers" guy needed to not be in the series at all, if that was supposed to be funny then it failed hard.

I now just saw the first two "episodes" of Netsuzou TRap, this one seems like it's going to end up being pretty bad so I'm glad I'm getting this out of the way now, hopefully by next week I can start watching the "good stuff" I'm quite looking forward to watching My hero academia again for example

My pc is running a q6600, 4 gigs of ddr2, and I have a 7750 for the gpu. I really need an upgrade and have been looking at a cheap mobo/cpu/ram combo and will probably go with it, unless I can get some more funds. Was given a copy of pubg and can't even play it, feels bad.

Yeah, I'm saving up to upgrade my PC. I need everything except a GPU. I have a GTX 960, I know it's not the best but I think I need to upgrade everything else and then upgrade that later. I also want to get a second monitor since my current second monitor is terrible and not even the same size as my main monitor.

If we're talking PC specs then I have to say that my "old" one was pretty bad, it couldn't play anything past maybe a few pre-2010 games which is why I got a new one earlier this year, before I go into the specs I should mention that I was looking for a PC that would be able to play any game @1080p 60fps+ at max settings and would remain able to do so for the next 5 years at least.
Said specs are: Intel [email protected], GTX 1080 and 16gb of ram running on Windows 10 (meh)
It cost well.. lets just say a fair bit but it's good, not having to check whether I can play new games anymore is a pretty cool feeling and the amount of money you can save buying PC games is nice too

All I can say is that it's worth saving up to get "fancy" because the experience is worth the effort

Very much this, while I can still enjoy the original Naruto to an extent (minus the fillers of course) Shippuden with it's MASSIVE amount of filler content and ass-pull power-ups leaves the series as a whole feeling weak, also Sakura doesn't get enough flack for being a useless bitch in the original series and a downright nasty one in Shippuden
