If someone is able to afford acting classes to hone their skills, professional headshots, etc. And someone else isn't, how is that equal chance? If someone has a genetic advantage or disadvantage when compared with someone else who wants to be an athlete, how is that equal or something that could ever be balanced out and compensated for? Or even ignoring that if someone is able to afford good healthy meals, supplements, protein powder, etc. Has access to a professional gym for as long as they want each day because they don't even have to worry about work or anything but training, meanwhile someone else is struggling to afford food, is having to make due with their lack of equipment, is working extra hours just to make by and barely has the time and energy to fit in a complex dense workout, how is that an equal chance? One side here would have a significant night and day difference advantage over the other from the starting line. --- The above post is literally and objectively right. |

Look at the disaster that was Solar Roadways and the money they had. If there is any potential viability for such a project, even just for research, 5 million isn't going to accomplish anything. It's just pissing away 5 million that could've been put to better use. Or if an unexpected medical issue arises such as a heart attack, car accident, etc. Where you're taken to the ER where they're obligated to treat you regardless of you being able to pay, and then leave you with potentially tens of thousands of dollars of a bill. When I would visit my ex girlfriend at the hospital she worked at it was quite common for people being brought in from car accidents and such literally beg not to be treated because they didn't have insurance. Medical debt is the leading cause of debt in "the greatest country in the world" a few years ago 40% of Americans gained a medical debt.
