Definitely listen to the downmixes, they're fantastic. The official remasters fell victim to the loudness wars, so a lot of nuance and detail was lost. The downmixes are, I believe, sourced from MiniDisc pressings of the original 5.1 mixes.

I'm not sure if he was replacing the trim piece, or if he opted to remove it and the tech covered it with plastic to prevent damage

I'd honestly be surprised if anyone other than a dealership or a specialty exotics shop would even touch it. The risk is too high if something goes wrong.

And yeah, our CEM babysat that car from writeup to completion, making sure nobody but himself or the tech touched it. It was pretty funny, since the customer himself let one of the shop boys sit in it and take a picture.

You need a lift to get the car off the ground enough to even access the oil pan; he probably doesn't have one at home. Or maybe he's the kind of enthusiast who simply prefers to own and drive vehicles rather than work on them himself.

Hell, the car is so low you probably even need kickers to get it up high enough to even swing the lift arms under it lol

Hell, we're still dealing with the fallout of the 6 speed dual clutch box in the 2010+ Focuses and Fiestas. Not to mention all the airbag inflator and door latch recalls.

One of the biggest problems is that Ford has a regional recall rollout system. So Ford Corporate will send out a cover-their-ass advance recall notice to every eligible Ford owner, with little fine print on the back of the letter saying "your local Ford dealer may not have parts yet". So we get people coming in for what they perceive as a huge safety issue, and we have to turn them away because we don't even have the parts yet. That's lead to some seriously heated arguments lol

what amazed me is how low slung it is. you have no idea just how short that thing is until you stand right next to it. the roof line comes up to just above your waist. I love how the back end looks, but you can barely see the tail lights since they're low and angled down

I used to work at Office Depot, their faxes are expensive as shit. It's like 3 bucks for the first page and a dollar something for every additional page. (Which makes zero sense from a cost breakdown perspective, but hey, putting paper into a machine and hitting "send" ain't easy.)
