There isnt any reason for the first boss of a game to be 15 minutes. (Unless youre like, Shadow of the Colossus or something idk). Literally zero. So Im positive a lot of the gameplay is going to be crappily over-extended fights and bosses.

yeah this is currently my biggest concern. Also the giant empty areas they showed looked bland to run around in.

One other thing not to forget is they have about 70 floors of Shinra HQ they can add in for the final dungeon

Eh... I don't think Zikten is coming from the wrong place and is actually compassionate and highly empathetic towards humans. Part of being a human is we're capable of doing wrong, dark shit... and sometimes humans do wrong, dark shit, partially due to circumstances that weren't completely in their control. We are dynamic creatures capable of great things, and sometimes highly sinister things. Sometimes it's because we're actually too far gone and "evil" due to a mental issue or traumatic experiences, and I think Zikten recognizes this isn't one of those cases and that's what he's trying to convey, even if he isn't taking the time to properly format his thoughts so they aren't so easily misinterpreted and off putting.

Do we NEED concrete evidence and the kid's entire life story right now to hold the position that he is eligible for redemption? I don't think so. I think you can give people benefit of the doubt and understand, look, life can be crazy as shit and some people end up doing really bad shit for all sorts of reasons... sometimes those reasons are that the person was in distress and maybe has been for a long time, had a lack of guidance, fell into a bad crowd, and did something wrong that could've been way worse. But we are supposed to operate on innocent until proven guilty right? Well we can prove he did these crimes... and the crime was armed robbery, abduction, and assault with a deadly weapon... but no actual murder. So WHY is there multiple life sentences for this kid? Was it proven he is completely a lost cause and needs to be imprisoned for life? The judge made that call but if you just think about how crazy life can get, if you can accept you probably haven't lived the craziest fucking life anyone has ever lived and likely were given a lot of fortunate breaks, you can see why the judge has regrets and why other folks agree that the sentence is too harsh.

Give the kid the next 16 years of his life behind bars to see what it's like to have everything taken away from you and what he could've done if he killed someone. But also use that time to teach the values the parents failed to do and set him up to be reintegrated into society where he can be successful on his own accord and prove himself. Show him that mercy and compassion and maybe he can lead other troubled youths struggling that could end up committing similar acts. And who do you think would be the better role model? The pigs shooting unarmed citizens or the ex-felon who turned his life around after prison and leads a virtuous life now?

All this shit gets less and less forgiving the older the criminal is at the time the crime is committed... but 16 years old is still an age where having a shitty background and family may have made you into a monster and that isn't entirely your fault. If he didn't actually kill, give him a chance.

Closing notes on this post: I used to think extremely harshly when it came to criminal justice as well. I would argue with other people who just seemed naive with how sympathetic they were towards criminals and were dumbfounded thinking "there isn't any fucking excuse to do those things!" Over time I learned morality isn't black and white and more and more what struggle is like as I gained more life experience. I've met people who I'd initially come to see as excellent examples of good human beings, and sometimes find out later l they have done something pretty bad in the past (not armed robbery and abduction level mind you) or ended up doing something later. What preceded those things every time is struggle, hardship, and trauma. When you understand what that is and give others the benefit of the doubt, sympathy and compassion comes easier, even during these sort of cases. But of course I maintain a harsh attitude toward straight forward crimes like murder and rape. Just remember people that dehumanizing and making monsters of men and women is an endless cycle. Only patience, understanding, love, and forgiveness can break that.
