It has everything. It's my all time favorite painting. It's one that you can look at for hours. I want to go to the MOMA and see it in person one day.

There are plans in place for something like this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Response_Scenario_Number_One

Continuity of government (COG)
If a nuclear device were to destroy the heart of Washington, D.C., most of the leadership of the US would be destroyed with it. The highly secretive and classified COG plans or the Continuity of Government are protocols that are in place to deal with such a contingency. After a nuclear detonation near the center of Washington, D.C., the President, possibly the Vice President and most members of Congress would be presumed dead. COG details the line of succession and be a sort of shadow government. It prevents the US from becoming completely leaderless. It also allows the US to deal with the catastrophe, defend itself and to begin fighting a war that it would find itself in. The new leadership would be made up of unelected officials and representatives of each department and agency. These would be career officials and not political appointees. This contingency would only be in place until the Presidency and Congress can be reconstituted which could take years.

Interesting, but I would think it would be more effective if the government (representatives and senators) would be more separated. In the 21st century, they don't need to be in the same room. It makes sense for the President and the Vice-President to be in the same room though.

Think about it. If somebody simply nuked Washington D.C., the country would immediately turn to anarchy. If our government was split throughout the 50 states, instead of one centralized location, we would be much safer. It would also be a positive thing if our senators and representatives locations were kept secret.

Many of my Republican friends have never left the country. And if they have, they have only been to Canada or the United States and stayed in the tourist areas filled with Americans.

I would. I would do anything it takes to serve my country.

I despise people that say this. Words are just words. You claim this, yet you do the bare minimum right now. Nothing is stopping you from joining the military now. Everyone (mainly on the conservative side, though some liberals too) like to beat their chest and boast their commitment to the country, but when push comes to shove, they duck for cover and bow out.

Man up, and join the military now. Back those words up. Or stop lying.

It's 2017. Enlisting doesn't mean to go out in the battlefield like WWII. There are many different ways to serve my country without enlisting.

I would imagine they would have a hard time selling weapons to foreign nations. Also, I imagine that selling arms directly to citizens makes very minimal money.

War is the bane of humanity, anyone who still sees that primitive mentality as a solution to solve any problems has not learned a thing from history.

Exactly. But since we are human, war will continue to happen. Maybe not in the scale of WW II, but still.

War is sanctioned. Nobody wants chemicals and nukes flying about.

Nobody is going to use nukes anyway, because the ramifications are so high if used. You don't need laws to limit nukes. Chemical weapons though? Evil countries will use them. The less dangerous ones only harm people and don't destroy the environment. They will be used.

These days, the whole world is basically connected. We have economic, cultural, and/or military ties with almost every country in the world. I don't get why Trump supporters say we need to forget about the outside world just because "Trump is the president of the US so he should only care about the US." That right there is bad logic for the modern world. The US is a powerful nation because we deal with other nations. We would not be the US without diplomacy.

Better Mexican Economy = More Jobs = Less Drugs = More Opportunity = More Education = Less Illegal Immigration = Better World.

Why hasn't Trump thought about this plan?
