Zero and Sky are closer to each other than to Cold Steel but I like them all.

Hoping that Kuro 1 takes the crown though because I've heard mostly good things about it.

I remember thinking book 2 was one of the weaker ones in the early parts of the series. I guess I don't like the Seanchan plotline much though.

SNAFU S2 ED is one of the all-time greats imo. I also liked the S1 OP pretty well.

I don't really care for the ending of Clannad After Story, but the stretch of like 10-15 episodes before that is still outstanding enough to make it one of my favorite of all time.

Sales weren't great but Kuro seems to have been very well received from a word-of-mouth perspective, at least from those that have played it in the English-speaking community.

There's obviously some selection bias in that statement since the people that would have played it already are likely to be dedicated fans of the series.

Also yes Kuro 2 I've heard got very mixed reception, but the nature of the complaints makes me think it won't bother me as much as others, at least.

CS4 is in a weird place with the fandom I think.

The people who are consistently down on the Cold Steel sub-series as a whole will often say that it's the worst and most culpable of all the games, and then there are the people who consistently like the big climactic moments of the series who will say that it's the strongest game of all of them.

Oh yes hype. The teases for Kuro at the end of Reverie are some of the best written parts of the entire series imo so I'm really excited. The fact that those are vn-adjacent sections probably gives them a bit of an unfair advantage in that department but I'm still excited regardless.

I liked Reverie more than at least all the Cold Steel games, except maybe 3 which I'd probably put on the same level.

Shikisai has grown on me a bit over the course of the contest, but I do wish I liked the song a bit more.

I haven't been liking it as much as season 1 but it's solid.

I took a look at the seasonal chart for next season.

Lots of sequels I couldn't care less about.

Will be watching Frieren and I'm in Love With the Villainess for sure.

Apothecary Diaries and the vampire hikikomori show seem neat, so I'll keep my eye on those at least.

Ok to be fair though this is pretty much the MO of every villain in the series and at least half the non-main-party good guys on top of that.

I've only watched a few episodes of season 1 as of now

I have half a mind to just skip book 10 (if I even make it there) since I've heard it's mostly considered the weakest book and it definitely bored me in the early stages, but that's probably also a bad idea.

I actually started my 3rd attempt at reading through the books inspired by watching some of the show. History suggests I will not be successful in getting to the end this time either, but at any rate I finished the first book. Both times I've returned to the series though I've been struck by how much closer to an adventure the series is in the early stages, and I can't help but wonder if this is why I've never made it through to the end. The high points of the books were always great, but here (and for most of the first few books from my memory) even the slower parts still hold my interest, but as the series becomes more about political stuff the slow parts really seem to drudge on.

No, trying to continue at book 10 from where I left off is not an option.

Nynaeve and Rand still the best.

Dudley definitely has the best S-Craft in the series and no I will not be taking questions or comments.

My recommendation would be Kaguya-Sama but it's much more romcom-y than Monogatari.

I think some parts of Monogatari aren't as good as others but I like it a lot overall.

I actually started watching Wheel of Time Season 1 mainly because I'm living with my parents temporarily and my mom was interested. (I have read the books up through part of book 10)

I heard a lot of negativity around the TV series so far but it's been solid so far as of episode 2. Really impressed with the costume and set design so far and I don't have complaints about any other aspect either.

The Heaven's Feel adaptation is very good and is easily my favorite thing in the Fate/ franchise, even having also read the VN. Unless you're a huge Ilya fan maybe, since she didn't get quite as much time in the spotlight in the movies. All 3 movies are available to rent on Youtube at least in the US, though idk about things like cost or quality (definitely not available legally for free though). Also semi-related but all three ending themes to the movies are among my all-time favorite anime songs >.>

The Gankutsuou OP has always been one of my favorites so I'm glad someone else likes it. I don't have the impression it's that popular though or else I might have nominated it for the OP/ED contest.

I don't know that I'd recommend them in this context either but I watched both Madoka and Psycho Pass within the first year of my watching anime and enjoyed both.

Fate/Zero maybe? Could see that backfiring but it's jrpg-esque and very popular.

Both the OP and ED for NHK are top tier imo

I've started this game recently and think it's pretty good so far. I like the music quite a bit. Not so much because any particular track has stood out to me, but the overall vibe is just very relaxing and nostalgic.

Gameplay is also quite fun. Reminds me a lot of the old Mario and Luigi games--both from a combat and exploration perspective.

Can't comment much on the story yet but it seems solid.

I'm actually a bit surprised neither of those OP's were in the contest. I like the Durarara one especially.

Yeah I think they're just different contests, either of which I would enjoy. Though, I don't view even this contest as judging song and animation like they're 2 categories on a checklist--I just view it as judging the entrants as openings/endings to a television show rather than as songs.

I like the field overall. Some things I don't like but I think there's a pretty good mix of stuff. I knew like 2/3 of these before but I guess my best discovery is probably the Domestic Girlfriend OP.

No idea on misses but I guess I think there's a lot more Monogatari stuff that could probably make it in. Also Kogarashi Sentiment was robbed in noms.

99.9 is not my favorite Mob OP, but it's still quite good. Very cool visuals. Flyers is all right in isolation, but I really hate it in the context of the show. Having this loud upbeat OP for such a reflective, somber show is just idiotically dumb, and it's my least favorite entrant in the contest by a lot. Good riddance if this ends up losing to an even stronger entrant.

I actually have quite a soft spot for ED's like Memories. The combination of the gentle song and the simple visuals are just really good at letting me unwind after watching an intense episode. Unfortunately Flip Flap is one of my all time favorites. I like the song a lot, and the visuals are beautiful and intricate.

Match 1 I like the choruses of both OP's but the rest is kind of not-great. Zetsubou's OP is more memorable but not always in a good way, so I think I'm going to give the edge to AoT

Crossing Field is a top-tier anime OP. Incredible song, serviceable animation, and the combination really gives the feel of an epic high-stakes adventure even if the show itself only sometimes delivers on that promise. Don't really like the Paranoia Agent OP much. The song has always felt middling to me, and the visuals are just very goofy--deliberately so but that doesn't mean that I'm going to care about it.
