I think there's at least a chance the rule doesn't end up going into effect, if only because in the past when I've seen universities organize this rapidly against legislation that those laws have not been passed. I realize this is a somewhat different situation but I think there's some possibility here.

In the case of Anaak I think it's more that she herself doesn't have her own motivations that well sorted out

That is pretty much how I feel about the Webtoon as a whole, having read most of what's out so far. The first arc is probably only mid-tier or so, but at the same time it's not like the later arcs are going to blow your mind in comparison to the beginning or anything.

Yeah I guess that's a change they made to the anime. They group all the interactions with Kuuya in one string of episodes right before/as the arc where Kuuya is relevant is starting.

Unfortunately, she made some questionable hiring decisions in making a total psychopath one of her generals. I'd definitely say they erred on the side of cutting too much if anything. I think the side characters are really critical to the story overall, and it wouldn't be the same to me if they were gutted too much.

Mashiba really did get the short end of the stick though. Same with Shouya's 2 friends from elementary school.

Also there's one scene in the manga where Shouya and I think Mashiba(maybe? Not 100% sure) go to talk to Shouya's old grade school teacher and I really wish that scene was actually in the movie.

I like the movie more than the manga personally.

The movie's greatest sin is probably failing to characterize Shouko as well as the manga does, but I feel like the direction, music, etc more than make up for it. Also the movie uses sound design (particularly periods of silence) in ways that just can't be done by manga at all and I love it.

So...Your Name. On the one hand I do rather like it, but for me personally it doesn't really enter into the upper echelon of anime films. What it boils down to is that I just don't like the final third or so of the movie. The movie starts off as this quirky romantic comedy with a weird body-swapping gimmick that is actually handled unbelievably well. It does a really good job introducing/developing the characters and expanding on their relationship even though they never actually meet and it's just great to watch. However then it turns really quickly into this desperate and dramatic fantasy, and it just doesn't really feel connected at all to me? It gives me some sort of tonal whiplash, it doesn't really play off of the strengths that were on display in the first half of the movie, and I didn't think it was particularly engaging in its own right either.

I don't necessarily know what I would do instead, but at a minimum I'm pretty sure I would have liked the movie much more if the second half were even just a standard boy-meets-girl romance. There's probably also a way to make the fantasy stuff work for me if you want to go that route, but off-hand I don't know what it is.

Anyways on another note, here's my order of the films I've seen in this project. Dashes indicate large gaps between the movies above and below them.

Yeah, within the anime community they are pretty close. A Silent Voice actually managed to win the public vote over Your Name in the /r/anime Anime of the Year contest when they came out, though I don't think it was by much.

This depends a bit on the program whether or not this will be true for you, but in my case a good chunk of the grad program was also new to the area, which is useful to keep in mind.

Normally I'd say just pick some hobby you have and go out and do that thing if only to meet people, though COVID-19 may complicate this somewhat. If it's a sizable school, they also likely have clubs for lots of things which could useful, although obviously you'd be meeting mostly undergrads this way. (For example one of the first things I did when moving here was search to see if there were any local Super Smash Bros. tournaments.)

Episode 131 is possibly my least favorite part of the show and is actually a critical part of why I've been dissing Nen so much earlier in the topic.

I never watched this movie,probably in large part due to being put-off by the title, but it's strange that the write-ups here are only managing to convince me that I made the right decision despite what the placing is.

I really thought this whole pancreas eating thing was just a very strange title and nothing more. (Yes I did know the premise of the movie but assumed it wouldn't present with the same level of weirdness.) And this also generated like 3 new things I expect I wouldn't like about the movie in the process.

Overall this movie was pretty good, but I do have some mixed feelings.

Mostly I thought the core story and characters are really strong which ends up taking the movie a long way. My main issue is I guess that as much as I'd like to ignore it, there's no getting around the fact that some things about the movie's gimmick are just goofy and weird in ways that undercut the emotional tone the movie at least should have been going for.

Also some parts of the ending bugged me also. Basically I thought the ending depicted the main character's emotional transition as being too sudden for the type of development they were going for, but I don't know. Could see other interpretations here.

I wasn't particularly a fan of this movie. I've forgotten most of the details but I think I'm in a similar position as Inviso?

From what I remember, I wasn't very interested at the beginning, but then the movie slowly drew me in with the development of the relationship between the two leads which was actually pretty good. However towards the end there was some plotline involving the other human, and whatever that was I really didn't like it and it just made me immediately want to wash my hands of the movie and be done.

I don't think CS3 is the pinnacle of the series, nor would I say it's particularly close. It is easily my favorite of the Cold Steel games so far though.
