Listening to Trump gives you a glimpse into his agenda, which is clearly not in the best interest of America. It's rather fascinating though to see how he spin spartial truths into outright deception. The way he he'll emphasize and restate words/phrases is like he's brainwashing people. People really fall for it. Scary stuff.

Less than 6 hours from the first flight. Everything is all packed and ready to go. Might get about 3 hours sleep. Out on my balcony smoking my final joint until I either go back to Canada or Thailand again.

My in-laws are devastated though. They thought they had until the 30th with our daughter. They even suggested that I go alone and they stay here for now, she said the same thing I said, no chance.

They just issued a curfew for Thailand beginning on Thursday. No one is allowed out of their house between 6pm and 7am. Going to be a lot of poor people losing their jobs here. Things will get bad. Hopefully I'll be able to get out.

God, Americans are stupid. With all these businesses trying to play coy and stay open despite the obvious pandemic and what seems like a large amount of people just ignoring orders to stay at home, we're gonna be way worse than Italy at this rate. 7301 new cases today alone, and those numbers probably won't remain accurate since some places aren't bothering to test due to how bad it's gotten.

This is a complete disaster.

I'm certain California has reserved their tests for the well to do folks. Gotta make that bread, especially during a pandemic.

I live in Santa Monica, California. Apparently some dumb nuts are playing basketball at Venice Beach about 3 miles away. As of a few days ago, my city had 3 confirmed cases. One of which being someone who worked at the Apple store in the promenade. The promenade has a a lot of traffic. Santa Monica is part of LA County (in case you didn't know). I live 5 mins from two different hospitals. The number of sirens and helicopters I hear daily has grown. I've experienced mild symptoms so I just assume I have it. If I pursued getting tested I'd be denied. I have a feeling all our tests are going to the celebrities who can pay for them. I've been inside for 3 days now.

I still think I got it back at New Years. I got pretty sick for about 5 days (all the same symptoms as Covid-19 as it turns out). I was tested for multiple things but they didn't know what it was (not h1n1, influenza a/b, etc). Wife and I were talking about it the other day and it is definitely possible I got it. Maybe they had it as well but showed only minor symptoms (daughter had a runny nose and bit of a cough for about 10 days).

I booked my flights back to China for the 31st. I wanted to go sooner but the cost was way too high for the 3 of us and I'm not leaving them behind for what could be months.

I doubt my flight will be canceled, it's just the question of what kind of quarantine we will get. Beijing has mandatory hotel quarantine for 2 weeks upon arrival. However, people over 70, under 14, pregnant, or a medical condition can apply for home quarantine. So because of our daughter we should get quarantined to our home. If that's the case at least I'm in my home not some hotel where we will go insane.

I can't help but wonder if you spread the virus.

I know that this rumor has been circulated a few times, but I've heard that the federal government is talking about shutting down and/or doing a lockdown for 2~ weeks.

My source is my sister, who works for a state prison, and thus does have some slight inside info there. It could very well be another baseless rumor, but she called my family to warn us to stock up a bit more based on that. I thought it might be worth passing on.
