I don't get the love for 2, but I respect it. It's just too much of a jump from realistic action to SUPERHERO JOHN WICK.

Also, I like how you said the final half hour was incredible. That really speaks to the movies pacing

Guess what. The last action scene was an hour long. I literally found a cam recording to make sure I'm not crazy, and from the moment he gets off the boat, to the final duel is basically an hour. Yeah it's like 4 different set pieces but it does not stop for a literal hour

MY CROWN

I'm shocked Office Space isn't top 5. I'm also shocked I was the third highest ranker with a 10 spot. Office Space really could've gone as high as like 3 for me at any give time and my top 11 or so were very fluid and I mixed them around quite a bit before a final submission. Kinda wished I had it slightly higher now, but I think it was doomed to top out at like six even if I did go with my initial rankings.

This was another rewatch, and I remembered most of the film. Despite that, I still laughed out loud several times. It is just a great comedy that does almost everything right.

In retrospect, I do agree with the idea that maybe it sputters a bit in its final act. I didn't really consider that in my rankings but if I did have a complaint about it, it would probably be that.

Has anyone done a "Rank Your Favorite Christmas/Holiday movies" topic before? Might be a good one for a seasonal ranking at some point.

I also had another idea that I'm not sure would work but we could do a "Rank Our Favorites" topic where we submit some favorite movies, non-specific to genre, anonymously and then rank them. I hadn't decided if I wanted to do one where we actually submit movies we think are great artistically or guilty pleasure movies or a mixture of both.

Christmas Vacation is extremely nostalgic for me and I would guess I've seen that more times than literally any other movie. Watched it every year as a kid and I still watch it at least once a year during the holidays. It is unironically my second favorite Christmas movie and my siblings and I still quote it all the time.

Oh man did I hate Popstar so much more than literally any other movie in this ranking. It was in like in a tier by itself, with another tier of nothing in between my 29 and it to help quarantine it from Popstar. Below is my edited, more friendly write-up. I was busy to I actually have a couple of old write-ups I might post to, but at least I made it back in time to see the death of Popstar.

Also, I might not like Andy Sandberg at all anymore. It was like the end of The Usual Suspects where I get the fax and slowly have the horrible realization that the unfunny comedian I was looking for this entire time was Andy Sandberg all along.

15. Gavs
The biggest hit against this film is that it isnt as focused as Young Frankenstein, which was really dedicated to the Frankenstein mythos and classic horror, spoofing specific scenes and tropes. By comparison, Spaceballs feels more surface level and scattershot, with less passion for the source material.

19. Karo
The problem is that this film does not as much satirize the elements of the Star Wars series to the degree it just does a straight ripoff of the plot of Star Wars only with everything dumb and silly, and that gets old really fast.

24. Mythiot
Spaceballs suffers quite a bit from feeling like Brooks wasnt quite as affectionate for the source material as his other spoofs and is more annoyed by its omnipresence then anything.
