i'd been struggling with major depression for a few years by the time i even started college, and i also had a messy breakup with a girl i was absolutely crazy about. so then i turned to drugs and partying all the time, said fuck school, sold weed for income for a couple years, and then tried to kill myself at one point. after about a year of getting my head on right, i decided to go back to school. i enrolled in a couple online classes at a CC, then went there for 2 years to get my associates (actually 2: diversified studies and math). thought i wanted to major in biochemistry, so i started in that. did 2 years of research in biochemistry/biophysics, then found out i liked chemistry a lot more, so i switched to chem with a math minor. then realized i only needed a handful of credits for a math degree, so i just went ahead and got a BS in it. tomorrow i graduate.

btw, if you really excel at mathematics, an actuary/stats/data analyst route will be easy street. just sayin'.

doing research is tough shit that doesn't pay much, in money or recognition. but you can go to some insurance company and be an actuary, or do data analysis and make mega bucks.

i was considering actuarial math after my interest theory class this semester, just because it's so fucking easy. at least to pass the FM exam. i'm sure it gets harder, but if you have a solid grasp of math, i think it's mostly memorizing shortcuts and formulas to pass that shit. the word problems can get a bit trippy, but eh..

man, 9 years ago i failed out of college after 3 semesters

i graduate on saturday with 2 degrees and i've got a ~3.2

idgaf if that's not "good enough" for some job, because i know i worked my ass off to bring it back up from a 1.6.

there are some instances where you should be concerned, but if you network well, getting a job isn't just about some dumb number on your transcript.

yeah, no doubt. the problem becomes accessibility, which is certainly limited. i get your casual/occasional oxy users (especially almost a decade back when i was doing it). and then they move on to H because it's cheaper, since you know, they want those "original roxys" that don't have the gel, or so they don't have to cook 'em first. and then suddenly that H has some fent slipped in and boom, they're dead. ha ha ha, yeah, lack of benzos is definitely the biggest problem.
