As I said in yesterdays thread, I unfortunately like the previous years champions from the years I participated in more, but Im very pleased that Passing Through the Forest won the championship round! The retirees from this year really ran the gamut of favorite to least favorite songs from my R3 rankings, from #3 at the highest to #63 at the lowest and everywhere in between, so there was a lot of room to end up with a champion that I didnt feel very strongly about. I noticed a lot of softer songs doing quite well this year, so Im thinking of throwing in some of those types of songs in my nominations next year. I already have a lot of ideas!

Hard to decide between Blue Rescue Team and DX version. The DX version was very faithful to the original song, so it feels just as good as the Blue Rescue Team one.

Threads of Fate - Passing through the Forest

Very hopeful for Passing Through the Forest! I like the other champions from the prior years I've participated more, but since it's my second-favorite retiree in the bunch, it would be a really good result for me!

Both songs here are really good, but I feel pretty strongly about Passing Through the Forest in this match. Its now my favorite remaining song in the contest, and Id be very happy to see it as a champion. Honestly, I think its the only song left that I feel particularly excited about potentially becoming this years champion. Not that I dont want any of the other 7 songs to become champion, though.

Passing Through the Forest is all about comfort and happiness, embarking on a grand adventure full of heart. The intro conveys this powerful sense of waking up and seeing the world

This is a really good representation of how I feel about Passing Through the Forest as well and why I like it! Evocative has been a word that pops up in my head when I think about the attributes of songs that I tend to gravitate towards the most. Expressive is another. When a song has the kind of sound that gives me that powerful feeling, whether its an emotion or setting I can picture in my mind, or a general, amorphous energy, its a telltale sign that I really enjoy it! The right arrangement of notes can really do a lot for me.

Now that round 3 is over, as I did last year, I'll post my full list of round 3 song rankings with a rough estimate of ratings out of 10, rounded down to the nearest whole number. I'm pretty satisfied with it, though right now, I'm feeling like I overrated Tenement of the Blue Spirit. If I were re-ranking it, I'd probably put it around 42 or 43 in the rankings. I think that and maybe Suite Photoconductivity are the only songs whose ranks I'd consider changing.

Tough match 1. I like both songs just as much for the most part, but GEOMETRIC DANCE has that one part at 2:47 that I don't really like, while Limitless Cinderella doesn't have any weaker parts, so Limitless Cinderella barely wins here, but I wouldn't mind either song winning that match.
