Oversight Subcommittee Chairman Darin LaHood (R-Ill.): I applaud Dr. Batess efforts in uncovering the truth of this data manipulation...

Dr. Bates after the hearing in interviews: "The issue here is not an issue of tampering with data, but rather really of timing of a release of a paper that had not properly disclosed everything it was"

"These types of statements by policymakers that attempt to take one study/dispute and blow it out of proportion are both unhelpful and misleading," he wrote. "We will be working with the science committee to demonstrate the scientific consensus on climate change and to encourage them not to interfere with the scientific process."

Why are you not watching it????

The first season was so actively bad it chased me away big time. Has it turned itself around since then? Because man that was bad.

Early on they were stuck in a holding pattern waiting for Winter Soldier to hit theaters. After that the connections to the movie universe have loosened up and they have been able to do their own thing. It got a lot better after that but I guess it depends on what you really hated about the 1st season. Plot and pacing get better but if you just absolutely hated the actors playing the characters then I am afraid you are out of luck there.

If it is true he considers the Cohen raid more damaging, I think it is for other things not related to Stormy Daniels. And surely even if about Stormy, I highly doubt dick pics are high on the list of caring.

Edit: And dick pics damaging to his presidency? Hell, in this age, it basically makes him more relatable. Probably 75% of America or more at this point has sent genital pics lol. Not like it would have been a minor or something he sent them to.

Poor Anthony Wiener, was just a few years ahead of his time.

I assume this is a pun in relation to sending his to underage girls! Lol

Not really a pun. Weiner resigned from congress after the 1st dick pic scandal when he was caught sending links for his pics to an adult woman. A couple years later it happened again during a failed mayoral race. The underage girl wasnt until 5 years after his resignation from congress. So yeah in 2011 dick pics to another adult was enough to force your resignation from congress but today it would apparently be no big deal. Well if he had that R next to his name at least.

You should talk to them about it but know you might not be able to do anything about it. They might need to hear it from someone else or might not be open to it at all.

Was it really that fun of an experience as a kid? Are my kids missing out cuz we don't take them to places like that? Or is it more of a novelty? Seems like a novelty to me.

As a kid it was definitely fun. You got to eat pizza, play arcade games, and screw around in the ball pit/play scape. Then at the end you could turn in the tickets you won playing the games for some cheap toy. There was a Little Caesars branded version near us that had a 2 floor funhouse built into one of the walls. It was like a maze inside and stretched the length of the building. It wasn't tall enough inside for an adult to really get into so kids could hide inside it for as long as they dared.

It was a different era though and I always wonder if they could even get away with something like that these days.

Then someone should have taught that 12 year old not draw a replica at a police officer.

Is it a tragedy? Yes. But it's a tragedy of awful parenting and of a kid who didn't realize the danger he was putting himself into through his actions.

Again, maybe don't take the orange safety feature off your replica gun.

Because imo that situation was fairly assessed from the perspective of the cops. The fact that it was a child was not relayed to them before their arrival on the scene, and that was a mistake on the part of the dispatcher and that might have altered how the situation played out, but it also might not have because it was still the appearance of a real gun. So that's a big ol' "fair, next" as far as I'm concerned. And it does suck, but it would suck a lot less if people would not point guns (or appear to point guns) at other people.

Uh he was just standing under the pavillion and they drove the car right up to him and shot him as they were exiting the vehicle.

No. Their job is to protect the innocent from harm and uphold the law.

And, no you are just trying to act like everything is dumb you don't say to try and pull an air of superiority, but you are consistently across the board wrong.

I said IF only 1% of the time he kills her, which is an if and is an unknowable percentage (hence the usage to show you the it is 100% the right call every time to make), he still has to make the shot every time.

You are trying to no joke play 20/20 hindsight with gambling with lives with unknowable odds. You act like it is a video game that says "This guy may shoot this girl 1% of the time".

You are not operating in real life scenarios.

If the guy would have shot that girl .0000001% of the time or 100% of the time, you have to take the shot every single time. You do not fucking gamble with people's lives that are threatened and that you can save.

That is how real life works. If that bothers, you there is something wrong with you. The cop didn't force you to point a gun at a person. You made that choice. That is a consequence you live with. It has repercussions.

In real life we gamble with peoples lives every day we step out of the house. Not all of us jump straight to killing people before trying to talk to them though. You on the other hand would kill somebody on the .0000001% chance they might do something. But yeah I guess I'm the bad guy here.

Because that is real life. If only 1% of the time that guy shoots that girl, you still have to take that shot 100% of the time.

If that guy kills that girl, and you had the opportunity to save her then you should be fired on the spot. That is your literal job.

It would be a national outrage. And omg. Just imagine if the shooter was white and the girl was black. Them add all the racial bullshit on top of it to boot.

You take that shot 100% of the time when you or another person's life is direct peril. 100%. Always. Zero doubt of cause.

So you want to escalate the situation and make her chances of getting shot even greater based on a 1% chance the guy shoots her? That might be one of the dumbest things you have said here. So 99% of the time the cops talk him down or he just decides this was all a mistake and drops the gun on his own. Not to mention you would straight up kill somebody over a 1% chance. Their job is to protect everybody Corrik that includes the criminals.

If a person is pointing a gun at a 5 year old girl. And a cop is standing there. Does the cop have to wait until the guy shoots the 5 year old girl? Is that the due process and fair trial you want? I mean, you are saying he shouldn't shoot if he is pointing a gun towards a cop...

They should attempt to talk the guy down since them opening fire is more likely to get the girl shot as well. To be clear I mean she also gets shot by the police officer not the random guy. Accuracy is very low in these situations.

You said they should not fire to prevent the shooting of her because shooting makes it more likely for her to be shot. This is exactly what you said. So, in your scenario, the girl is shot and killed.

And the police will say they didn't shoot at the guy with the gun because "we wanted to try and talk him down because us shooting makes it more likely the girl gets shot. Not be the man with the gun but by us as cop accuracy is low"

You just said the cops should not shoot at the guy because she is more likely to be shot by the police officer accidentally to poor accuracy then the man brandishing a firearm with intent to shoot her normally. I mean, I bolded it for you.

You are trying to accuse me of changing what you said when it is right there!

You absolutely changed what I had said. I am not assuming that the police attempting to talk the guy down is a lost cause like you are. Then you claimed I had said cops were just as likely to hit bystanders as their intended targets which isnt remotely true. They will hit their intended target 100% of the time in your scenario but the cops also hurting the child go up as soon as they open fire. Then you tried to paint it like I am just letting some little girl die because in your mind nothing else works besides that guy getting shot. You kept trying to push what I had actually said closer to what you wanted to argue. But if you want to go that route and we have to shoot the guy no matter what I would have to counter with this being real life and not a video game where people hit the ground instantly after getting shot. So your bad guy gets shot by the police but still gets to pull his trigger because ya know not all gunshots are instakills and the girl still gets shot anyways. So why did you create a scenario where a little girl has to die 100% of the time Corrik. Thats kind of messed up.

I never said he was either and I think you greatly overestimate their accuracy.

What

It can't really be made any clearer but I will try. Police officers shooting at a suspect who isnt even shooting back at them have a 30-35 percent hit rate. So 65% of those bullets are flying right on by. Ideally nobody else is in the area and those stray bullets end in up walls, trees, or cars. Other times those bullets ricochet, fragment, and hit bystanders. So you either have greatly overestimated the officers aim, or you have thought up a scenario where your child threatening suspect is surrounded by sand bags to eat up all those bullets that miss him.

I would love to first of all see the sources for that outrageous number you just tossed out. Second of all, I would love to see the source for the outrageous claims that cops are just as likely to hit bystanders than their targets.

And, I would also love to see you further double and triple down on how a young girls life should be allowed to be taken and how America if seeing cam footage of it would not roast that guy.

I mean, we just saw how a security guard lost his job immediately for not going into a building to confront an active shooter.

It would be 10 times worse with a cop who failed to protect a citizen and with camera footage to show he could have.

Quickest link I could find Page 14:
http://www.nyc.gov/html/nypd/downloads/pdf/public_information/RAND_FirearmEvaluation.pdf

Number drops to 18% if the guy shoots back.

I also never said they were just as likely to hit the bystander as the target. I said they should attempt to talk him down because them opening fire makes it more likely she gets shot than if they had not. I also never said they should allow a little girl to die and your attempts to pain that picture instead of addressing what I have actually said is pretty sad.
