I thought Halo was just lazy representation tbh. She wears a headscarf, but she doesn't actually practice Islam. She's non-binary, but she still goes by female pronouns and presents as female in every way. They had her kiss a woman in one episode to show that she's bisexual, but her primary relationship is still with a man. I liked the character, but it felt like they wanted her to tick the representation checklist without actually bothering to do any of the necessary work.

And I liked S3 when I watched it, but I felt pretty unmotivated to watch S4. It doesn't help that the thing I most remember from it is that they gave Lex Luthor a bunch of Trump lines which is just...ugh.

People complain about pandering a lot, but YJS3 is one of the few times I'd actually agree that it was.

You are saying that there is a certain type of person who you do not want to be featured in the media and it's through no fault of their own. You would be selectively removing a group of people from having any media presence or representation.
